Cooking to 75

A fast way to level cooking to 75:
  1. 1. Learn the spice bread recipe. Sit by a vendor of flour and mild spice and make spice bread until you get to cooking level 40. The last few levels will be green and take many tries to get to 40, but you don't care. You can just buy more ingerdients.
  2. Get the recipe for smoked bear meat. . Check the GB before you go off and get it. It can be gotten on the second floor of the inn in Thelsamar, Loch Moden. Use one of your high level toons and mail it. Get 2 and put one in the GB.
  3. Obtain 35 bear meat. A good place to do this is in southern Darkshore, Kalimdor. Grizzled bears and cub are common and have a good drop rate. If you get extra, put them in the GB, too.
  4. Make 35 smoked bear meat and "Bob's your uncle".

Leveling in the Scaling Era

The following is still in the hypothesis stage.

Sometime in the last 6 months scaling (which had been in Legion since it's introduction) was applied to all regions. When you hover over a region on a continent map, you now see (x- y) after the region name. You cannot do quests in the region until you are Lx. Most mobs scale with you until you are Ly. In other words mobs have a level between z-1 and z+1 (where z is your level) except for the Elites. So combat doesn't get easier as you level up. It takes about 20 seconds per battle for a cloth armor toon. Sometimes you can survive combat with 2 mobs: 3 or more, forget it. I haven't quested with a better armored toon yet.

The standard quests yield the same XP in all regions when your level is in the limits: about 3% per quest. Exceptions for hard quests. No more 10-15% XP when you start out in a region at Lx. There seems to be no reason to go quest in a region with a higher x if your level is less than the y for the region you are in. After you reach L(y+1), the XP per quest drops off.

BT also has some lined out chars in the old Dance Card post which may mean ones completed.  Not all of them have been deleted.
In terms of numbers (11/16/16) we have a full slate of dwarf characters.  We were soooo close to completing Classy Dwarves. I suggest we concentrate on leveling those. That is, if we are going to try to finish this achievement.

Both Dwaves and Gnomes have been completed: Class Dwarves and Classy Gnomes have been entered in the Faceroller achievements.

Pandarens and Worgens look like the next species to work with. since i have 4 pandarens i'll leave the Worgens for others.

Increasing the Garrison resource cache limit to 1000.

Let's face it; I have too many toons - 14 - and too many Garrisons - 9. I don't have time to visit them as often as I would like.  Since a Garrison makes 6 resources an hour, it makes 500 in 83.3 hours or 3.5 days.  You have to empty the cache twice a week or it overflows.  You can raise the limit to 1000 by buying a "contract" from an Arakkoa vendor in Tanaan.  This takes 3 things.
  1. You have to become Revered with the Arakkoa.  Go back and do those quests you left undone.  You get 275 rep per quest if you have reached Honored.  Revered takes 12000 Honored.  So, for each 1000 you have to go you need 4 quests.  The last  toon I did was 5700 Honored when I started.  I am not yet done with the 23 quests.
  2. You have to get to Tanaan.  This means doing the invasion which starts with a nasty quest to get the shipyard Architect and Plans from Iron Docks (I relearned what the little red man with the little red sword next to him meant). Buff your armor as hard as you can and bring a friend.  Then you have to follow the quest chain until you build Lion's Watch.
  3. Buy the "Trade Agreement: Arakkoa Outcasts" fromVindicator Krethos in the Lion's Den in Lion's Watch, Tanaan.  It cost me 2375 Au.  Right click on it in your Inventory to activate it and Bob's your uncle.
One small detail, If you look at your cache, it will say "Full" after it reaches 500, but it will continue to fill until 1000.  This may get fixed sometime.

Romuul - follwer quest

If you didn't select Romuul as a follower at the end of that Embarri quest chain you can pick up a simple quest to recruit him just outside the Embarri Village at (42.87, 40.45) Shadowmoon Valley.

Resources and the Saw Mill

My first Garrison now has 10k resources.  I will soon replace my Sawmill.  I am not sure you can get away without one in the beginning.  I am getting enough from the cache and the trading post.  The trading post makes resources from lots of things - different every day - but I do it totally from herbs.  I don't remember when the herb garden opens up; I don't think it is soon enough to negate the need for a Sawmill to start with.
