fishing shack dailies - important?

I've dedicated a bag slot to a tackle box to concentrate all my leftover fish to facilitate completing fishing shack dailies in Dreanar.

Do we want to do this guild wide by clearing some space in the Guild Bank?

Dance Card

Brian's project is to have 1 of every type of character at L85 (or L90 for Pandaran) so that we can have an additional page in the Guild Bank.  The current "dance cards" can be viewed by going to achievements/guild/general/classy X, where X is human, dwarf, etc.  For instance classy humans only need (9/5/15) a warlock to complete the human dance card.

The Darkmoon Faire is in town! What do i need to bring that first trip?

First thing to do is Ride the Carousel!
  • You get both Experience and Reputation bonuses. That's why you're doing the Faire Quests right?
Faire Quests
  • Alchemy
    • 5 x Moonberry Juice
    • 5 x Fizzy Faire Drink
    • (Fizzy Faire Drink "Classic" is not an acceptable substitute)
  • Cooking
    • everyone forgets their flour
  • Leather Working
    • 5 x Coarse Thread
    • 5 x Blue Dye
    • 10 x Shiny Bauble (fishing supplier)
  • Tailoring
    • Red Dye
    • Blue Dye
    • Coarse Thread
Faire Daily Quests
  • The boxed winnings are mailable soulbound again
    • now that Gilneas has been grafted onto Elune you can have 22 toons in one realm.
    • yes, that means all 11 22 toons can concentrate their prize tickets on a single toon as long as they leave the boxes unopened
    • that's 55 110 tickets/day
    • Heirloom items can be mailed from Gilneas to Elune…
    • what this means is that you can have faire alts in gilneas and build up enough tickets faster at about 30 per faire per faire alt. it means each alt can buy the recipe for an heirloom item in about 6 months (ifs).

  • Whack A Gnoll
    • Controls
      • left hand on the SDFE keys
      • right hand on the mouse to click the swing key
    • I work looking down at a 45 degree angle
    • if you didn't see the pop up steam you can't get there in time, so don't waste time trying
    • whack your knoll and turn back toward the center
    • use a combination of straif and forward to run diagonally to streaming targets
    • usually takes me two tokens to make 30
  • Humanoid Cannonball
    • before asking to be launched get vertical so you're looking straight down, if you wait until you're loaded you can over rotate and look back
    • enjoy the view
    • the release point is the the path before now the edge of the boardwalk
    • it usually takes me two tries, I almost never hit a bulls eye
  • He Shoots He Scores
    • They changed the speed of the guns. I'm now limited to double taps
    • Quick shots are worth two hits (Thanks DJT)
    • the key to making 25 on a single token is triple tapping
    • pick a target to "come back" to - I use the center target
    • shoot the lighted target
    • when it goes dark shift to your "come back target"
    • shoot - the idea is to have the round in the air when the next target lights, you have a 1 in 3 chance of being right
    • if right shoot once twice more for a double triple
    • if wrong shift to the lit target and double tap it
    • shift back to the "come back" target and repeat
    • I usually need two tokens
  • Steam Tonk Me
    • Controls
      • Drive with the left hand on SDFE keys
      • mouse to click the fire button
      • ignore the boost button
    • be unpredictable - if you don't know what you're doing even the wise can't plan against you
    • loops are good
    • line up on a target and shoot without stopping
    • as Sun Tzu said What the hell is he doing?
    • we so need to get everyone into the tonk arena and go after the enemy tonks and the blimp
  • Target Turtle
    • they changed the turtle - now he moves all the time
    • however, he comes back to a central location and stops for a very brief rest
    • if you are aimed at his brief rest spot and throw before he gets there you have a good chance of a ringer
    • Throw the ring at the center just as the turtle turns around.  You still have the poor aim of the rings to cause you to miss.
    • toss to the front of the turtle
    • if you get a ring on, throw it to the same spot if the turtle hasn't moved

  • Firebird Challenge

    • dismount before flying - it's distracting to fly up mounted
    • you control forward motion, this isn't Cask me a Favor
    • I'm still figuring this one out
    • The rings don't seem to have a pattern to me
    • This isn't Whack a Gnoll, other players can pop your rings
    • Three rings appear over the tent behind the quest giver, these rings launch after you launch and can be popped by other players, I'm not sure if the other rings are static or not
    • Rings are more like spheres: you can pop them from the side
    • The best loop i've been able to figure out is to hit the 4 rings - 3 over the tent, 1 on the tower - then turn left and hit the rings on the beach curling back toward the east
    • A solution
      • face the quest giver facing north, the boardwalk will be behind you
      • request a launch
      • when you reach altitude straif left until you line up with the three rings over the tent, you may have to wait for them to launch
      • fly through the three rings
      • stop, gain altitude (jump) until you are aligned with the ring atop the tower, fly through the ring
      • proceed north through two more rings
      • turn sharp left and head west, head to the left of the last tree on the ridge
      • a ring left of the tree will become visible, fly to it, turn north, hit it
      • the ring on the beech is your next target
      • after that there are two rings off shore above an island, fly through them
      • turn east, fly to the ring on the beech, turn south flying through the ring, follow the beech through another ring
      • break west to fly through the two rings close together over another island, you will turn east to fly through them
      • continue east to a ring on the beech, fly through it's side and then turn south
      • follow the beech and flying through rings until you've made 15
      • continue flying through rings until you can safely fly to the quest giver and land

  • Pet Battles

    • The guy not on a horse
      • You'll lose - he's got max level pets. He totally kicked my furry little butts
    • The guy on the horse
      • You'll lose - he's got max level pets. I didn't even try

    Hacking the Encroaching Weeds

It's the little things that bite the hardest.
How many things that you know now that you wish you knew when you started?
I can't tell you how many times I moved to cancel a poor cast before I realized I could just cast again...

So, Enchroaching Weeds pop up on the Samsong ranch and are annoying. They take about 12 yanks to pull out. If only there was a way to get a running start.

I think you can do just that!

Normally you click on the weed, wait to enter the weed vehicle, then press the "1" key, wait for the cool down, and then press the "1" again.

I've "discovered" that between the click on the weed and the entering of the weed vehicle there's a buffer window you can exploit.

If you click the weed with one hand and immediately press the "1" key rapidly you can buffer several "yanks" before the cool down is enforced.

I've pulled the Encroaching Weeds with as few as 2 regular cycles of  "1" and wait.

    Guild Bank Organization

    Greetings Facerollers!

    Welcome to the new blog.

I'll be taking a few moments out of my busy farming schedule every now and then to talk about guild stuff.

This week my minions are reorganizing the guild bank. Once they're finished things will be easier to find and reflect the craft based leveling focus of our guild.

New layout for the first tab differs slightly from the general layout.

The first two rows hold 3 sets of nonbinding 16 slot starter bags and a couple of specialty bags - mining bags shown in this shot.

Columns 03 & 04 holds Blue or Better or special gear. The shield is there because it's nice to have one to toss to a starting protection warrior. Strong fishing poles aren't always available but give a nice boost to starting fishermen. Hammer-Picks and Bladed-Pickaxe save a bag spot for mining blacksmiths or skinning miners.

Columns 05 & 06 hold equipment buffs. When your weapon does 10 damage one extra damage is significant. Single wielders should grab 5 stones at a time. Dual wielders grab 10. They last a long time. Armor kits and enchants make a significant impact at this level.

    Column 07 holds potions.

Column 08 has cooking ingredients. Probably will be replaced with something more useful. Convince me.

    Column 09 - Gems.

    Column 10 - Enchanting materials.

    Column 11 - Herbs

    Column 12 - Leather & Hides

    Column 13 - Cloth

    Column 14 - Metal & Stone

Internally the columns are sorted from low level at the top to higher level at the bottom. Multicolumn sets sort as if they were one long column: the top of column 04 is larger than the top of column 03. I'll be posting a tutorial on how to bubble sort columns soonish.

Since there isn't much of an upgrade for bags for a while - you got a set of 4 nonbinding starter bags from 00-19 didn't you? - there is no reserved space for bags in 20-39.

Blue or better gear moves to columns 01 & 02.

Equipment Buffs go to columns 03 & 04.

Potions, Gems, Enchanting Material, Leather, Cloth, and Metal don't move.

    This leaves three columns unassigned.
Being an Engineer Miner I'd expand the Metal column to four wide.
However, I am a beneficent overlord. So convince me what should be expanded.

Now go forth and put stuff where it should go everywhere else!
