Increasing the Garrison resource cache limit to 1000.

Let's face it; I have too many toons - 14 - and too many Garrisons - 9. I don't have time to visit them as often as I would like.  Since a Garrison makes 6 resources an hour, it makes 500 in 83.3 hours or 3.5 days.  You have to empty the cache twice a week or it overflows.  You can raise the limit to 1000 by buying a "contract" from an Arakkoa vendor in Tanaan.  This takes 3 things.
  1. You have to become Revered with the Arakkoa.  Go back and do those quests you left undone.  You get 275 rep per quest if you have reached Honored.  Revered takes 12000 Honored.  So, for each 1000 you have to go you need 4 quests.  The last  toon I did was 5700 Honored when I started.  I am not yet done with the 23 quests.
  2. You have to get to Tanaan.  This means doing the invasion which starts with a nasty quest to get the shipyard Architect and Plans from Iron Docks (I relearned what the little red man with the little red sword next to him meant). Buff your armor as hard as you can and bring a friend.  Then you have to follow the quest chain until you build Lion's Watch.
  3. Buy the "Trade Agreement: Arakkoa Outcasts" fromVindicator Krethos in the Lion's Den in Lion's Watch, Tanaan.  It cost me 2375 Au.  Right click on it in your Inventory to activate it and Bob's your uncle.
One small detail, If you look at your cache, it will say "Full" after it reaches 500, but it will continue to fill until 1000.  This may get fixed sometime.

Romuul - follwer quest

If you didn't select Romuul as a follower at the end of that Embarri quest chain you can pick up a simple quest to recruit him just outside the Embarri Village at (42.87, 40.45) Shadowmoon Valley.

Resources and the Saw Mill

My first Garrison now has 10k resources.  I will soon replace my Sawmill.  I am not sure you can get away without one in the beginning.  I am getting enough from the cache and the trading post.  The trading post makes resources from lots of things - different every day - but I do it totally from herbs.  I don't remember when the herb garden opens up; I don't think it is soon enough to negate the need for a Sawmill to start with.

Storehouse or Forge?

Fromagerie has reached 100 & has an extra small spot.
Should she put in a storehouse or a forge?
discuss

Storehouse does 3 things:
1. Access to Bank
2. Access to GB (L2)
3. Increases number of workorders on all (?) bldgs that have them.

1. Access to your bank is the most useful because it helps keep your bags from being full.  This is particularly useful in saving fishing daily yields - fish, eggs, bait, lures - for different quests.  There are 7 of them and they take a lot of space.  When you get a quest, load up that type of fish, eggs, bait, etc, go fish, save extra eggs, fish, etc in the bank and turn it in.

2. GB access is not useful IMHO as you can already do it for 5 minutes using the mobile GB.

3. Since WO's are done serially and take 4 hours, you can only do 6 per day.  Being able to stack twenty some is only really useful if you are playing only every 3rd or 4th day.

I am trying one toon without a SH and using mail - send and return - to "store" fish stuff.  It works, but is nowhere near as convenient.  You could also keep a hearth in SW near the bank and use it there.

Also, to get a level 3 SH you have to loot 10k gold in Draenor.  In 2 years before Draenor, I have only looted 5k Au (I recently achieved the first "Minding My Money").  That means 4 more years before I will have a L3 SH.   The usual loot I have seen from an NPC is about 0.5 Au.  10k Au would mean 20k NPC kills.  Not in my lifetime.

I am not sure about the forge.  I did it for my blacksmith, because it seemed that thing to do.  He was also my first Garrison, so I didn't know any better.  A forge is useful for making plate armor and weapons.  You need 100 truesteel ingots to make one.  A workorder makes 1 or 2 (with a follower (?)) ingots.  You make 12 ingots per day or one weapon/armor per 8 days.  So, it would seem to be useful to have as many forges as you can.

But: how many toons do you have that wear plate?  Also you can only equip 3 per toon.

There is a nice buff you get from the second Blacksmith (I didn't notice when she showed up).

In order to make the best weapons, you have to upgrade using Savage Blood that get made in the barn or traded from primal spirit (50 PS for 1 SB).  PS is Soulbound, SB is not.  It takes 15 for each of 3 upgrades.  This is spirit of harmony in spades.
